Continuing the Legacy of Ricker College Through Scholarships

The Ricker College Board of Trustees is proud to continue the legacy of Ricker College by providing college scholarships to deserving students from Aroostook County, Maine.

Each year, the Board administers a number of scholarships to help local students pursue higher education. The number of scholarships available may vary from year to year, but every effort is made to provide at least one scholarship to each secondary school serving students from Aroostook County.

For more than four decades, these scholarships have helped students from Northern Maine pursue their educational goals and build a foundation for their future.

College Scholarships for Aroostook County Students

The primary focus of the Ricker College scholarship program is supporting qualified students from Aroostook County. Applicants from Washington County may also apply, as may individuals who previously applied unsuccessfully and are currently attending college. However, a smaller number of scholarships may be available to applicants in these categories.

Most Ricker College scholarships are valued at $2,500 per year and may be renewable until the recipient earns a bachelor’s degree, provided the student remains in good standing at their college or university.

No scholarship may be awarded for more than four years.

Scholarship Eligibility Requirements

To be considered for a Ricker College scholarship, applicants must meet the program’s eligibility requirements, including:

  • Rank in the top 25% of their graduating class

  • Fully complete the scholarship application

  • Submit the completed application to the Ricker College office no later than the fourth Friday in April

  • Meet all other requirements outlined in the current scholarship application

Students interested in Aroostook County college scholarships are encouraged to review the application carefully and submit all required information before the deadline.

How Ricker College Scholarships Are Awarded

Scholarship applications are reviewed by a special committee of the Ricker College Board of Trustees. Scholarship recipients are nominated by the committee and approved by a vote of the full Board.

All submitted applications become the property of the Board of Trustees. The Board reserves the right to reject any or all applications.

Many of the scholarships administered by the Ricker College Board of Trustees carry the names of individuals whose memories have been honored through the establishment of scholarship funds.

These scholarships represent more than financial assistance. They are a lasting way to honor individuals while helping the next generation of Aroostook County students pursue their educational dreams.
